Vitamin C - The Master Antioxidant

Vitamin C is an antioxidant that is required for more than 300 metabolic functions in the body, including tissue growth and repair. It is also required for the metabolism of several amino acid proteins and vitamins which are vital to the immune system. Most animals' bodies manufacture their own vitamin C. As humans, however, we lost this ability hundreds of thousands of years ago. (1) Therefore, vitamin C must be obtained through the diet. Unfortunately, due to modern farming and food processing techniques, our food contains very little vitamin C by the time it reachs our plates.

It is crucial when fighting cancer that one supplements with a natural vitamin c supplement. Powder is a good choice because it can be added to juices and smoothies. Vitamin C is water-soluble, so it does not remain in the body for more than a few hours. This is why it is imperative to take vitamin C every few hours throughout the day. An average daily intake amount of at least 10,000 mg is good.

If you are able to obtain intravenous vitamin C, it may have a more powerful effect. Alternative or nutritional doctors will often administer this treatment for a reasonable price. If you can find one in your area that is affordable, great! If not, buy some vitamin C powder and/or some natural vitamin C tablets, and start taking them right away.

Some studies suggest that vitamin C molecules may stop cancer from spreading by neutralizing the enzyme "hyaluronidase" which is made by the cancer cell that would otherwise help the cancer to metastatize (spread). (3)
