Cancer Types:

Juicing

Juicing is an excellent method of detoxifying and strengthening the body. I consider it one of the most important therapies, and definitely the first therapy I would start immediately. If you don't have a juicer, buy one.  If you can afford it, buy a high-quality one like a Champion. If money is limited, go to Wal-Mart, look at garage sales, second-hand stores, classifieds, or just ask around.  You'd be surprised at how many people have a juicer stowed away in their kitchen cabinet.

What To Juice:

Broccoli, Carrot, Beet (Roots & Greens), Apple, Parsley, Orange, Celery, Cauliflower, Tomato, , Cabbage, Garlic, Lemon
(See Appendix 1 below : Therapeutic Elements of Specific Fruits & Vegetables)

I recommend adding a half teaspoon of vitamin C powder and/or marine phytoplankton powder to each glass of juice.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Juice-fasting will be much more effective if only 100% organic produce is used.  However, if you MUST use non-organic produce, make sure you THOROUGHLY clean it before juicing.  (Soak in sinkful of water plus 1 cup of food grade hydrogen peroxide for 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.)  Look in the yellow pages for natural grocery stores/whole foods markets.  At some of these places you may find that buying organic is not much more costly than non-organic.

Frequently Asked Questions about Juicing

Q. Am I supposed to add water to the juice?
A. Yes, dilute your juice with steam-distilled water. (6 oz. juice to 4 oz. water.) Don't use tap water unless you absolutely have to, and then boil it first, and let it completely cool. But, it is strongly recommended that one never ingests any water that comes from tap.

Q. How long will the juice stay good?
A. It is best to use the prepared juice within a half an hour. After that, the enzymes and nutrients begin to die. A good rule is to always either drink or refrigerate the juice immediately! Refrigerate no longer than an hour before drinking.  After it has set for any length of time, always shake the juice before serving.  If possible, use a glass container or a vacuum-sealed thermos rather than plastic.

Q. How much juice do I drink?
A. The more the better. But don't drink too much at once to avoid an overload of enzymes which may cause headache. I recommend a tall glass of juice every hour or two. Perhaps make one batch, have one glass, refrigerate the rest. Drink another glass in a half an hour. Wait a couple of hours, make another batch and so on. It really depends on your schedule and capabilities. But once you begin juice therapy, you'll see why it so important. The results are practically instantaneous!

Q. Should regular meals be eaten while doing juice therapy?
A. No. In order to maximize the benefits, one should not eat food while doing a juice fast.  Food digestion uses up a great deal of the body's energy and resources.  It is best to direct these resources to fighting cancer & repairing the body.

Q. Is it normal to start feeling worse while on a juice fast?
A. Yes, you will inevitably have to feel worse before you can get better.  Juice fasting is a powerful form of detoxification. Expect to feel a little less than perfect during the juice fast, but in the end it will all be worth it!  The first wave of cleansing is usually the worst:  headaches, dizziness, nausea, bad breath, glazed eyes and a heavily coated tongue are signs of the first stage of cleansing.  Hunger can be the most intense in this period unless the enema is used which quickly assists the body into the fasting state by ending digestion in the colon. In Stage 2 of cleansing the skin may become oily as rancid oils are purged from the body.  You may have a few days of pimples or even a boil. A pallid complexion is also a sign of waste in the blood. Ketones are formed by the incomplete oxidation of fats. It is suspected that the ketones in the blood suppress the appetite by affecting the food-satiety center in the hypothalamus. You may temporarily feel hungry for the first few days of the fast. The desire to eat will disappear. Finally, the body embraces the fast and the digestive system is able to take a much-needed rest, focusing all of its energies on cleansing and healing. White blood cell and immune system activity increases. You may feel pain in your lungs.  The cleansing organs and the lungs are in the process of being repaired. Within the intestine, the colon is being repaired and impacted feces on the intestinal wall start to loosen.

Appendix 1:  Therapeutic Actions of Fruits & Vegetables for Juicing:

Broccoli
- Great source of calcium and sulfur. (Calcium counters acidity in the body)
(Sulfur helps rid the body of poisons & serves as a fuel for cell's energy-producing mitochondria.)
- Contains Lutein (an anti-cancer carotenoid) and D-glucaric acid (a phytochemical)
- May activate a "tumor suppression" gene

Celery
- Alkalinizes bloodstream & purifies blood
- Improves digestion & aids kidney, adrenal, & liver function
- Enhances activity of white blood cells
- Halts fermentation & aids the elimination of carbon dioxide
- Natural diuretic
- Excellent source of Mg, Iron, A, B, C, E, Calcium, and Potassium

Carrot
- Relieves constipation & other colon disorders
- Boosts immune system
- Inhibits cancer cells by disrupting the mechanism that turns good cells bad
- Antioxidants, A, B1, B2, B6, K, Folic Acid
- Pro-Vitamin A (Carotene) is very useful in fighting cancer & rebuilding the intestinal lining.

Parsley
- Contains more Vitamin C than oranges by weight & high in Calcium & Potassium.
- Prevents the multiplication of tumor cells
- Relieves gas & stimulates normal activity of the digestive system
- Helps bladder, kidney, liver, lung, stomach, thyroid functions
- Helps relieve fluid-retention, halitosis, & indigestion

Lemon
- Contains citric acid, which lowers the viscosity of blood by taking water from the body tissues.
In doing so, it prevents fermentation of the cells.
- Lemons also contain citrin which helps the blood flow freely through even the tiniest capillaries.

Apple
- Have a cleansing effect on internal inflammation.
- Helps the body get rid of toxins & aids liver function.

Orange
- Source of Vitamin C & bioflavonoids (in the white part beneath the peel).
- Contains calcium d-glucarate, which stops liver enzyme (beta glucuronidase) from splitting off toxins & "bad" estrogen
after they are bound to glucuronic acid in the liver. So it helps the body eliminate more toxins & estrogen.
